Saturday Morning

Pilot Club members, Monica Crouch and Helen McDaniels visit with Brunch Speaker, Tammy Whitehurst,
following her Saturday morning spiritual presentation.

It was a morning of good food, great fun, and an uplifting spiritual message, for local women, on Saturday morning, as the Sulphur Springs Pilot Club hosted their annual Spring Brunch. While many of the husbands were attending the Kingdom Man presentation in Sulphur Springs, the women took advantage of the opportunity for some spiritual enrichment too!

Saturday's annual fundraiser featured Tammy Whitehurst, of Joy for the Journey Ministries, as the guest speaker. Whitehurst delivered a message with plenty of laughter and life lessons to encourage local women on their journey through life, as she used Biblical principles to guide them along the way.

Using the basic principle found in Nehemiah 8:10, "The joy of the Lord is your stength!" Whitehurst encouraged those in attendance to start their day with Bible reading. "How on earth do you think you can fight a battle for the Lord, if you wait until the end of the day to say your prayers?" asked Whitehurst. "We need that strength to begin our day, not waiting until the day is over to call on the Lord!"

"The joy of the Lord is to be our strength and for us to 'soar like eagles' we don't need to wake up like we're a chicken nugget!" declared Whitehurst. "We need to arm ourselves with God's word at the beginning of each day and go out ready to meet the challenges that life has to offer. Always remember that God has his hand on the thermostat and He isn't going to give you more heat than you can stand!"

"It was a great opportunity to be refreshed in your spiritual journey and actually take time to sit down and relax, while laughing with Tammy!" expressed one of those in attendance, from Sulphur Springs. "She truly knows how to make you laugh, but then has you assessing the things that we all deal with in life, and looking for solutions!"

"I loved her presentation!" declared another attendee. "It was an every day lesson in the challenges that all of us face each day, with some spiritual guidance to realize that we're all struggling with many, many of the same problems!"
