The Sulphur Springs Pilot Club hosted an appreciation luncheon at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall, on Friday, at noon, to express their thanks and appreciation to all of those who helped to make their Bike-A-Thon a true success in 2007. Area individuals and groups who aided the club in conducting their annual, major project, in March, were treated to lunch and praised for their contributions.

Lori Ann Gobert, Lt. Governor of Texas District Pilot Club, of Columbus, Texas, was the guest
speaker at Friday's Pilot Club Appreciation Luncheon.

Beverly Owens, President of the local Pilot Club, introduced guests and called the meeting to order. She called on visiting Lt. Governon of Texas District Pilot Club, Lori Ann Gobert, of Columbus, Texas, to address the group and Gobert told of the many, many contributions that Pilot Clubs make across the state of Texas. She praised the active Sulphur Springs Pilot Club and thanked the local supporters, as well. Gobert gave a brief history of the club and its participation in brain injury related issues across the nation.

Pilot Club members and members of the community who supported their 2007 Bike Rally
gathered for lunch on Friday at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.

The Pilot Club used the money raised at their annual Bike Rally to fund local charitable endeavors, with a main emphasis on helping those with brain related injuries, and to promote awareness and safety throughout our community. Club members conduct puppet shows at area schools and promote safety in a number of other areas.
