

PJC Offers Small Business
Training in September

The Paris Small Business Development Center at Paris Junior College
will offer training sessions during the month of September, according
to Director Pat Bell.
A free Live the Dream! Seminar will meet from 9-11 a.m. on Friday,
September 3, at the Bobby Walters Workforce Training Center on the PJC
campus. Participants will find out what it takes to start a business
and be their own boss. Topics will include the legal requirements of
starting a business including the different forms of business
organization and their advantages and disadvantages. Other topics will
cover conducting a feasibility study, writing a business plan, types
of financing available for a start-up business and what lenders want
to know as well as information on SBA guaranteed loan programs,
getting a sales tax permit and more.
The Government Contracting seminar will be held from 10 a.m. to noon
on Thursday, September 16. Participants will learn the basics of
government contracting at the federal, state and local level. Topics
will cover regulations, uniform contract format, contract types,
electronic commerce, and more. This seminar will also be held in the
Bobby Walters Workforce Training Center.
