

PJC Announces Continuing Ed Classes

Paris Junior College - Sulphur Springs Center will offer several continuing education classes during the month of February, according to the Center Director, Dr. Andrew Fisher. The classes meet at the PJC - Sulphur Springs Center., 1202 West Houston.
The Medication Administration course provides instruction in preparation and administration of designated medication by non-licensed nursing personnel employed in licensed health care agencies including the responsibilities associated with such administration. The class meets from 5:30-9:30 p.m., each Monday and Wednesday, February 20 through June 27. Participants must have successfully completed a 75-hour nurse aide course; be 18 years of age or older; have a high school diploma or GED, and have 90 days work experience in a long term care facility.

The comprehensive Pharmacy Technician class will be held from 6-9 p.m., each Monday, February 20 through June 11. This course prepares students to enter the pharmacy field and take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam. This course includes a graded final CCI exam. Welcome to the World of Computers is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon, each Friday, February 17 through March 9. Students will learn basic computer tasks using windows; proper mouse and keyboard techniques; how to navigate the internet; social networking; E-mail use and more.
