2012 Lone Star Quilt Show Adopts Theme of
"Women of Influence"
by: Bobby McDonald
This quilt was designated "Best of Show" for the 2012 Lone Star Quilt Show.
As has become a tradition with the Hopkins County Fall Festival, the Lone Star Quilt Show, on Friday morning, in the Sulphur Springs High School Auxillary Gym, was a favorite place of much of the crowd. With over 150 quilts on display and a number of mini-quilts, the place was a photographer's dream and found people gazing, discussing, and admiring the heirloom pieces created by local quilters.
This year's show adopted the theme of "Women of Influence" and had a number of mini-quilts displayed, that had been quilted in honor of women, both locally and nationally. Each of the mini-quilts had a biography attached of the woman that had inspired the work, and created a wonderful display of intense interest.
View the following photos of the beautiful quilts on display and make plans to attend the Saturday show, from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.
