TLC Film Crew Films Downtown
Restrooms For T.V. Feature Story
by: Bobby McDonald
Bright sunshine and a gathering of Hopkins County residents was the scene on the downtown square, Tuesday afternoon, as the filming crew for TLC (The Learning Channel) arrived for a special feature on the downtown bathrooms, to be titled "The Most Insane Bathrooms." The feature story will air sometime within the next 6 months on Dish Network Channel 183.
"It's an opportunity for us to 'show-off' our downtown and the unique restrooms that we've installed in the area," advised City Manager Marc Maxwell. "We had hoped that they would attract tourists, and this is proof that they're being talked about in many distant places."
Interviewed for the segment, included David Gideon, who installed the glass structures, Maxwell, Mayor Craig Johnson, and even some residents who came down to attend the reception provided. The reception was catered by Plain and Fancy Sandwich Shoppe.
