Rotary Club Christmas at
Noon Thursday

Rotary Song Leader, Bob Weaver, joins Mrs. Claus, portrayed by
Ruth Ann Crowson, as they lead the children in a round of
favorite Christmas carols.

The exhibit hall of the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center was the scene of the Annual Rotary Club Christmas party, when members of the club share their bounty with children who might not have an extra special Christmas. Members adopt children and purchase Christmas gifts for them to enjoy during the holiday season, and Thursday at noon featured milk and cookies and the arrival of Santa Claus, who was ushered in to the hall to the sound of children singing Christmas carols. Bob Weaver, Rotary Club Song Leader, and Mrs. Claus, portrayed by member Ruth Ann Crowson, led the children in Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer and Jingle Bells, as Santa made his way into the room.

"We meet each Thursday at noon, but this is by far the best meeting of the year!" allowed one of the Rotary Club members. "To see the excitement and the smiles on the faces of the children makes for a great holiday season for everyone!"

Santa Claus came to the front of the room and greeted the children and then began calling their names as some of the helpful elves, that were Rotary Club members began passing out the gifts, to the delight of the children.
