Saturday Night Market on the Square
The Place to Be in Hopkins County
by: Bobby McDonald
Elvis tribute artist, Josh Davis of Sulphur Springs provided the musical entertainment.
Organizers of the Saturday night Market on the Square are spelling success with a capital "S," as the third weekend of activities unfolded, last Saturday. A huge crowd of local families have discovered that the "place to be" on a Saturday night, is the downtown area, where the children can play in the water feature, teens can become involved in a chess or checker match, and there are shopping opportunities from a variety of vendors, restaurants that are staying open for dinner, and musical entertainment for everyone! "It's great to come down, visit with your friends, and see all the people!" exclaimed one Saturday night visitor. "I saw nearly everyone I know!"
"This was just the place for us to sell baked goods, for our trip to South Carolina," advised members of the Dixie Darling Softball Team. "Everyone in Hopkins County seemed like was on the square, tonight!"

With warm summertime temperatures, the ice tea vendors were
a very popular place!
And, the Muddy Jakes Dog Show attracted a number of local pet owners.
"The Downtown Square is a Great place to
enjoy the Dog Days of Summer!!!"
