Sulphur Bluff Beta Club Wins
State Skit Competition
From Sulphur Bluff School

Folks across the state of Texas know where Sulphur Bluff, in Hopkins County, is located, this morning, after the Sulphur Bluff Beta Club won first place honors in the Skit Competition at the State Beta Convention, over the weekend.

The SB Beta Character Skit titled, "The Average Day Of A Beta", was a 5 min comedy skit that emphasized the National Beta Club ideals. 10 of our 17 members were very creative and collaborated together to make the best skit ever!!! Our scrapbook theme was "The Beta Bunch". All members worked hard on this and created a groovy 100 page book that recorded all of our service projects and activities since last January. The artwork for the book was based on the Brady Bunch 70's style of wallpaper so each page was hand drawn as to be a wall in "The Beta Bunch" house, complete with the funky gold picture frames that trimmed our pictures. The scrapbook was dedicated to Mrs. Sharon Cox, our school's secretary, and won 3rd place
in the competition.

The National Beta theme this year is "The Heart of Beta" and true to that, Mrs. Cox is "The Heart of SB". Our club also entered the Banner competition with a very classy and flashy silk and sequins banner. Although it did not make it in the top three spots, it DID stand out amongst all the other banners it was up against! We had an awesome time and to hear our school's name called out twice on stage was oh so sweet!! Sponsors are: Tressie South and Kathy Hogue and Members are: Heather Anderson, Dylan Didanoto, Dillon Harred, Kaci Powers, Cheyenne Bryant, Meagan Coberley, Sarah Williams, Katelyn McDonald, Landon Dorner, Erin Zeringue, Casey Gore, Darron Foster, Tyler Raine, Justin Goldsmith, Hunter Powers, Brian Saures, Kendra Jock
Congratulations, Sulphur Bluff Beta!!!
