

Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears Win
JV Volleyball Tourney, Over Weekend

Congratulations to the Sulphur Bluff junior varsity volleyball team for winning first place in the 2010 Sulphur Bluff J.V. Tournament.
Sulphur Bluff got a bye in the first round of competition.
In the second round, they faced Miller Grove and lost game one 9 to 25. In game two, the Lady Bears rebounded back with Chyenne Bryant and Kacie Powers leading the way grabbing a victory of 25 to 22 forcing a game three. In the third game, Miller Grove made it a very interesting until Kacie Powers scored the last five points to finish the game 25 to 20, advancing the Bears to the championship game.

In the third round and the championship game the Bears lead by Katlyn McDonald and Kacie Powers found their self down a game against North Hopkins with a 23 to 25 defeat. However, the Lady Bears bounce right back with Chyenne Bryant serving six unanswered points, as well as, Meagan Colberly with nine and Ashton Sharp with four points to finish a demanding 25 to 5 score forcing and a third game. Game three was very close until Kacie Powers gave the Lady Bears the lead scoring seven unanswered points. However, the Lady Panthers had something to say about that when they scored six points in a row to make the game close but it was not enough, with a final score of 25 to 21 the Sulphur Bluff JV Lady Bears finished in first place in the tournament. Congratulations to all the teams the tournament that placed.
