Sulphur Bluff Scholarship Dinner & Auction
Raises Over $10,000.00 For Educational Opportunity
by: Bobby McDonald

It was a wet night in Sulphur Bluff, on Saturday night, and folks "opened up their pocketbooks" in appreciation for the nice rain, as they enjoyed a catered meal by AJ's Fishhouse and pledged money in support of higher education. It was Sulphur Bluff School's Annual Scholarship Dinner and Auction. The effort raised over $10,000.00 to provide educational scholarships to graduating seniors at Sulphur Bluff High School.

Former recipients of the scholarships presented their stories for the crowd and then the auction began, following dinner.

"It was a great night and for such a worthy cause," expressed High School Counselor and Scholarship Board Member, Judy Jones. "We want to thank everyone that came out and helped 'lift a hand' to these students and help them to achieve their educational goals!"

"Higher education is expensive and this just gives our students an incentive to study harder and make plans for a higher education!" continued Jones. "In today's job market, students need all of the education that they can get, to land a job in their field of study, and it is through efforts like this, that they can realize that dream!"
