Sulphur Bluff 8th Grader Wins
Regional Science Fair
From Sulphur Bluff School
It was the physics of a "chicken bone" that landed Sulphur Bluff 8th Grader, Casey Gore, at the "top of the heap," in the Regional Science Fair, held in Mt. Pleasant, this past Wednesday. Casey had designed a project that dealt with the project entitled "Fast Break Physics," and explored whether a raw chicken bone would break easier by bending or twisting. He developed the hypothesis and worked with a number of experiments to first win 2nd in his division, at the Middle-School Level. Then, his project was chosen Best of Show by the Judges, to top the entire Science Fair.
The event held at the Mt. Pleasant Civic Center, was for schools all the way to Texarkana and some stiff competition. Judges were from the Northeast Texas Community College science, biology, and chemistry departments.
