

Soup and Sandwiches
"A Crowd Pleaser and Easy to Fix"

School has started back and your children have each brought a friend home. What's for supper, that everyone will like? And, you certainly don't feel like cooking a "big meal," just after the holidays! "Mom, we want something warm. It's cold outside!" is echoing through your home!
Well, the following recipes are easy, quick, and nutritious, as well as meeting all of the above requirements, and are simple to adapt to a crowd of guests for dinner.


Broccoli and Cheese Soup
1 package of frozen broccoli
4 grated carrots
2 cans of chicken broth
8 oz. of sour cream
1 can of cream of celery soup
3 cans of cream of potato soup
1 - 2 pound box of velveeta cheese
salt and pepper to taste
In your favorite soup pan, heat over medium heat the chopped
frozen broccoli, grated carrots and chicken broth to a slow boil.
add cream of celery and cream of potato soups and reduce heat.
Stirring constantly, add sour cream and shave pieces of the velveeta
cheese into the mixture, until melted into the mixture. Add salt and
pepper to taste, and serve hot.

Hawaiian Bread Sandwiches
Package of Hawaiian Bread Rolls
Shaved turkey and/or ham slices
Choice of cheeses (Swiss, Pepper Jack, Mozzarella, Cheddar, etc.)
Butter
In a large frying pan melt butter over medium heat and dip split
Hawaiian Bread rolls in the butter, warming and toasting. Add ham and Turkey
slices to warm, and them place between portions of rolls, adding cheese.
Grill until rolls are brown on each side and cheese is melted. Serve with
the above soup.
(This recipe is easy to double or triple if you have a crowd!)
