Wins Hopkins County Spelling Bee

The Dallas Morning News Hopkins County Spelling Bee was hosted by Saltillo ISD at First Baptist Church's The ROC in Sulphur Springs on Monday, 18th at 10:30 a.m. 

There were four contestants:  Joe Tippit 5th grader from Saltillo, Lindsay Butler, 6th grader from Saltillo, Anna Attaway, 6th grader from CHESS, and Madi Gauntt, 6th grader from CHESS. 

 

 

 

 

The winner was Anna Attaway from CHESS and the alternate was Lindsay Butler from Saltillo.  Anna will advance to the Dallas Morning News Regional Spelling Bee in Dallas on March 23rd at 12:00 noon. 

 

 

 

Our pronouncer was Jeanne Lawrence, 4th grade teacher from Saltillo, Judges were Joli Maroney, Saltillo Counselor, and Lonette White, CHESS spelling bee coordinator.
