Ghosts and Goblins Appear
All Across Hopkins County,
Wednesday Night

On a night made for children, Hopkins County "came alive" to issue treats and goodies to those who dressed in Halloween costumes and made their way to individual homes and a variety of venues across the area. Almost every church in Hopkins County used Wednesday night to feature a "Trunk or Treat" event where children were able to come to the parking lot and receive candy and other treats, in a safe environment. Additionally, many youth participated in traditional door to door campaigns, where they knocked on the doors of local homes in their neighborhoods to receive treats. "We love Halloween and look forward to it every years," expressed one local homeowner. "It's exciting to see the little kids and to provide them with candy, as it brings back memories of our own childhood fun!"

On a night when many older children sometimes participate in some "tricks," a check with the local police and sheriff's offices revealed that there was little activity throughout Hopkins County. "It was a realatively quiet night across Hopkins County," revealed a spokesman for the Hopkins County Sheriff's Office. "We didn't have any major calls of distrubances."

This "Trunk or Treat" event was held at the Pickton United Methodist Church.

To the south in Wood County, Terror Trails was open for everyone's enjoyment in observing Halloween night, as they concluded their 2007 run of the venue. A portion of the proceeds from Terror Trails benefits the Yantis Volunteer Fire Department and a scholarship fund at Yantis High School.
