"You might wonder about a local nursing and rehab center getting excited about the start of school? However, it was an exciting time for residents and their families on Monday!" exclaimed Stacey Wetzel, a sponsoring member of the staff at Sulphur Springs Health and Rehab Center, in Sulphur Springs. "Our residents so enjoyed visiting with the large crowd of children and were 'caught-up' in the excitement of a new school year!"

Residents, friends, and staff members collected school supplies and provided them free to students for the upcoming school year and had
ninety-nine students participate in this second year to host the event.

"It's hard not to get 'caught up' in the excitement of kids starting to school, when you see the smiles and excitement on their faces," added another staff member. "It's certainly contagious!"
Participating children received snow cones and were offered free haircuts, courtesey of Roy Luna and Malissa Simmons. They could play in the bounce house that was provided, or just visit with the many residents that were intent on sharing their own school expriences with the children.

"It was just like going to visit with my grandmother!" exclaimed on excited youngster, as he exited the event, equiped with supplies for the new school term.
A number of the local home health groups participated with helping conduct the event.
