Results from the Whitehouse Winter Classic UIL Invitational Meet

Jan. 29-30, 2010

 

The Wildcat UIL Academic Team was one of about fifty schools participating in the Whitehouse Winter Classic UIL Invitational Meet this past weekend. Our team had a respectable showing despite the very stiff competition.

 

Zachary Blackmon earned the top score in 9th grade mathematics and Karina Rosales earned the top score in 10th grade mathematics.

 

In Journalism, Katy Mason earned 3rd place in Headline Writing.

 

In Computer Applications, Courtne Anderson earned 3rd place and Jessica Cowley earned 4th place.

 

In Computer Science, Connor McCorkle earned 3rd place and Jeff Spears earned 4th place. Arthur Harbin and  Taylor Ausbrooks helped the team earn 1st place.

 

In Accounting, Dakoda Painter placed 2nd, Sam Long placed 3rd, and Mallorie Taylor placed 6th individually.  Together they earned 1st place team.

 

 

 

In Current Events, Cole Cable placed 2nd.

 

In Literary Criticism, Emily Mason placed 6th individually.  Katy Mason, Colby Carter, and Jessica Cowley kicked in to help the team win 2nd place.

 

In Spelling and Vocabulary, Kelsey Brown won 4th and Silvia Gudino won 6th individually with Ashley Clegg and Andrew Wallace helping the team win 1st place.

 

In Ready Writing, Emily Mason earned 2nd place and Cole Cable earned 3rd  place.

 

In Social Studies, Cole Cable earned 1st place and Katy Mason earned 2nd place. They, along with Colby Carter and Sam Long, scored a 1st place team win.
