Downtown, Thursday Morning

Moving statue...the statue is transported to the downtown square, via Church Street, as it is returned from
the City Maintenance Yard, Thursday morning.

It was celebration time for a number of local veterans, as they witnessed the return of the Memorial Soldier Statue, Thursday morning, to the downtown area. The statue was being brought to its permanent home, on the northwest corner of the newly constructed downtown plaza. "We'd had the statue stored at the City Maintenance Yard, securely places, and ready for its return once the construction of that area of the square was complete," explained City Construction Supervisor, Russ Nuss. "The 7500 pound statue had to be loaded with a crane, early Thursday morning, brought to the square, and put into place by a crane.

Members of the Marine Corps League proudly stand before the anchored

its initial purchase and installation.

Welcome Back, Soldier!!!
