An unassuming Amanda Scott, a 5th grade teacher at Douglas School, listens as Superintendent, Mike
Lamb, describes that one of the teachers has been selected as this month's Sulphur Springs Dodge Teacher
of the month.
Douglas Teacher, Amanda Scott,
Named SS Dodge Teacher of the Month
by: Bobby McDonald
Amanda Scott realizes that she is the winner of the use of a new vehicle for the month, as her students
shout in joy!
It was a day of celebration at Douglas Intermediate School, when Superintendent Mike Lamb and the Guys from Sulphur Springs Dodge arrived with three new vehicles. The students were called to the south entrance of the school and the announcement was made that 5th Grade Teacher, Amanda Scott, had been named for this month's award. Johnny Ross, with Sulphur Springs Dodge, praised the students for submitting their nomination and voting. He announced that 3,551 votes had been cast from Mrs. Scott, making her the winner for October.

"This is just our way of saying thank you to the hardworking teachers of Hopkins County," expressed Ross, as he led Mrs. Scott to make her choice of one of the three vehicles to drive for the next month. Having trouble making a decision, Scott finally asked her students and they resoundingly agreed that she needed to choose the red Dodge Ram truck. Mrs. Scott accepted their choice and will be seen driving the vehicle to school for the next month!
Mrs. Scot's happy students rush to congratulate her on being named the winner!

Scott, who revealed that she teaches approximately 75 students each day, invited all of them to come forward to have their picture made with her and the new vechicle.
Congratulations, Mrs. Amanda Scott!!!
