at Tuesday night's Teen Court Awards Ceremony.
It was a bittersweet occasion, on Tuesday night, as the local Teen Court Organization held their year-end awards ceremony, honoring top students for their efforts in the popular program. "We have to say good-bye, to a number of senior students, that we've become very, very attached to," expressed Rhonda Neal. "But, we know that with the talent that is graduating this year will make this community proud and give you younger students the opportunity to develop into the leaders that this program needs!"
Named as winning top awards were:
Jackson Daily and Aleigh Harland - Teen Court Scholarships
Ayana Taylor - "Top Attorney" Award
Mason Morris and Caroline Berning, Top Freshmen
Russell Bowen and Tim Bigler - Top Sophomores

Ayana Taylor and Thurman Allen - Top Seniors

Graduating seniors honored were: Alleigh Harland, Alex Patterson, Bridgette Bowen, Ayana Taylor,

Also, in a "shocking" announcement, five of those adults, who have approximately a 60 year combined history with the local Teen Court organization, announced that it was time for them to "retire" and pursue other things in their life. "Teen Court will always hold a special place in my heart, and certainly you students have given me much, much more than I've given this organization, over the past 15 years," advised Coordinator, Jana Jenkins. "And, remember that I'll continue to be watching what you do and the great example that you make in this community!"
"Teen Court is only second in my life to serving God," expressed Retiring Court Judge Dempsey Bullock, who has over 12 years of experience in the position. "You youth are what it is all about, learning to become the great people that you are and watching you become the great leaders that this country so desperately needs!"
Retiring from the Teen Court Program, in a Tuesday night announcement are: l to right, Monica Littlefield,
Dempsey Bullock, Jana Jenkins, June Luckey, and Rhonda Neal.
