Teen Court Begins New Year

Teen Court of Hopkins County gathered on Tuesday August 28 for their first meeting of the fall. They have several new key people and volunteers that have joined this year. Coordinators are Amy Griggs and Layla Highfield, Rachel Flatt Jury judge and Bryanna Johnson Master judge. Special thanks to Praire3 coffee & eats for hosting our meal of pizzas donated by Pizza inn, Pizza Hut and Little Caesars. Court house security provided by John Hipkins and Bill Allen. Thank you to Jonathan Newsom, Daniel Roper and Bryan White for help with training, Erwin Cain for fielding questions, Monica Littlefield and Jana Jenkins for their help and Sharon and Price Griggs for picking up the pizzas.

 

 

 

 

 

Also, to Judges Phyllis Rogers, Yvonne King and Ronny Glossup for their continued support. Thank you to all the great students who joined us, past and present members, we look forward to a great year!! Teen Court of Hopkins County is an alternative sentencing process for local teens to take care of Class C misdemeanor tickets. It is also a scholarship program for the teen Merit Club members who staff the court. It was started by the 1995-96 Adult Leadership Class in Sulphur Springs, TX as a class project. It is supported strictly by private and business donations and the United Way.
