"The" Book Club Enjoys
Cincinnati Chili, Wednesday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
It was Cincinnati style Chili that was on the menu for "The" Book Club, on Wednesday night, compliments of Ohio native, Roy Pelton. Pelton had donated the dinner for 20 people as an item in the The Symphony Auction, back in November, and prepared the feast for local book club members, who purchased the dinner.
The feast unfolded at Prairie 3 Coffee, on Church Street, Wednesday night, and featured the "Yankee" delicacy, that includes three-way, four-way, or five-way chili. "Your basic chili is spaghetti with a chili sauce and cheddar cheese," explained Pelton. "Then, four-way includes a choice of kidney beans and onions, and the five-way, or deluxe offering is with both the beans and the onions!"

And, let me tell you, the style of choice among members of the local book club was "five-way!"
Pelton completed the meal with Aglemisies' Famous Gourmet Ice Cream for dessert!
"This is a gourmet ice cream, made popular in Cincinnati since its opening in 1908, and continues to be a favorite for everyone," related Pelton.

And, it seemed to be a certain favorite here in Texas, as it was enjoyed by all on Wednesday night!
The Book Club reviewed the Stephen King book, "11/22/63," a time-warp novel that takes one back to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, in Dallas, Texas.
