Sulphur Bluff Bear Face "Tough"
Avinger Indians in Homecoming Loss
by: Bobby McDonald
No one could fault the Sulphur Bluff Bears as they face a tough Avinger Indian team for their Homecoming effort, on Friday night. Despite a valiant effort by the Bears, the Indians won the match-up, 51-33. Coach Marshal Moore had spoken of the Indians being a contending team, earlier in the week, and they proved to be even better than expected, when they took the court on Friday night, in Sulphur Bluff. And "un-stoppable" Indian team featured an expert three-point marksman, from the outside and some outstanding ball handlers beneath the basket.
The Sulphur Bluff Bears gave a great effort, but could not stop the Indian defensively, as they managed to get a comfortable lead and protect it, despite the Bear's efforts.
