Local Transplant Patient
Improving in Florida
The following is an update from Dachiel Turner, regarding her sister, Greenpond resident, Donna Williams, who had transplant surgery in Florida, during December. Local residents, family, and friends continue to follow Donna's recovery and keep her in their constant prayers.

Update: Sunday, Jan 1, 2012 7:30pm FL time: Happy 42nd Birthday to my Sweet Lil Sister today! Wow...what a day this has been! This day started off being so rough...Long hard night to begin with and we only got an hour sleep 2 different times after we watched the ball drop...at 3:30am they came in for chest xray after w...e had JUST dozed off, of course, then at 5am she started getting very naucious & zophran didn't seem to help...she laid here crying out to Jesus to HELP her for 3 hours straight with no relief at all...then about 10:30am she finally got easy, got a little rest only til 11:45 or so, but some rest anyway! The wonderful part about this is that Dr. Cannibal came in and they discussed taking out ther NG tube which goes thru her nose to her tummy, keeping her stomach drained, in hopes that this will help to lessen her nausea, & that's what happened successfully (even tho the actual task of taking it out was O SO Rough on her but it was quick and over with in a hurry!). He also said she could go outside for a special Birthday outing stroll in the wheelchair and possibly have a popscicle & an applesauce instead of bday cake!!! WOOHOO! Lemme tell you this is a TRUE BLESSING, bcuz she has been literally parched and can't have anything but a piece of ice every now and then, sitting straight up. After the swallow test Friday which she didn't pass it she has to wait until MONDAY to be retested to see if she can have more to drink...which makes a LONG LONG weekend! So what started out to be a very difficult day turned out to be a pretty wonderful day ! She really pushed herself tho becuz she wanted to get some "son"shine and I do believe that this was the BEST MEDICINE she could have had in the world! It felt so good outside! Temp was about 74 today!

I hope that she can rest good tonight though & after the workout she's had today I bet she will! Thank you all for your love, support and especially your prayers! All the birthday wishes are sweet and so appreciated! This is so hard on her but all of your outpouring of support has just amazed her! She didn't know that so many people cared so much! It is very humbling for sure! Thank you all so much! Plz keep your prayers coming because EVERY day will be another mountain for her to climb...for a LONG time...she has a very long slow uphill battle ahead and we have to take baby steps to get there, but she is the strongest & most determined woman I know! (and smartest too!) She CAN DO THIS, with our continued help, she can get thru it. She's missing her family sooo bad! Michael is so sweet and calls her with such love in his voice...they are very blessed to have each other I can tell that for sure! Mother has been so diligent about being right here by her bedside and not leaving it for 3 weeks straight...and not even going to the room to get sleep but a couple of times during that time...with very little rest in the hosp room, but she doesn't want to leave sister's side! We are so blessed to be able to all 3 girls be here together and we know that this is a very special time together! Yesterday she had a very hard day the nurse Linda and I washed her hair while she sat straight up in the chair, that was a huge accomplishment and felt so good to her too. She looks so good yesterday and today - I am so glad, & I think she's on her way now. She also had alot of sickness in the evening tho. Seems like one step forward and one step back, but all in all she's taking baby steps to recovering all the way! Praise the Lord!!! Thanks and please keep those prayers coming! (I wrote this intermittently between 7:30 & 9:30pm while helping sis with stuff.)

Continue to Pray for Donna and her Recovery!!!
