Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. marked the first reporting meeting of the 2012-13 Hopkins County United Way Campaign. And, everyone was "smiling" as campaign workers "turned in" $33,112.00 in collections, to be at almost the same as last year's first meeting.

This year's campaign chair, Judy Tipping, greeted workers with a large yellow heart, signifying this year's theme and bringing attention to the color yellow, that is bright, positive, optomistic, and required mental concentration. "Our theme is about the 'big hearts' in Hopkins County, and I want each of you to tape those businesses that have reached their 100% or above goals to the heart, so that we can all be reminded, just how important each business and indiviual is to the campaign goal of $150,000.00," expressed Tipping.

The adding machine was "burning" as the totals were added-up and the impressive total was revealed to a cheering crowd.

Additionally, this year's campaign had already received $1672.00 from the joint effort of Alliance Bank, City National Bank, and Guaranty Bond Bank, when they hosted the Burgers with the Bank event, last Friday.

To-date total is $34,784.00 for this year's campaign.
