"In the heart of the campaign," Judy Tipping, Campaign Chair of the 2012-13 United Way Campaign, greeted workers, as they arrived at Tuesday's weekly reporting meeting at the Hopkins County Extension Office. Tipping displayed a "red" heart, this week, in significance of energy, vitality and perseverance for the campaign, as they continue to canvass the community for donations to reach this year's goal.

This year's goal is $150,000.00 and workers brought in collections of $10,761.00 on Tuesday to raise the total collected to $45,545.00, almost 1/3rd of the goal. "We're 'right on target' according to my estimations, from last year's campaign," reported Tipping.

However, after some research was done, Susan Boerning, executive secretary of United Way, reported that collections were ahead of last year's second reporting meeting total.

Tipping ddisplayed the names of those businesses and individuals who had given 100% or more to the
campaign, this week.

"That's a sign of all of your hard work and I encourage each of you to continue your efforts and make this goal a reality for those agencies that need our help in Hopkins County," expressed a happy Tipping. "We've still got contacts to make and ground to cover, but I'm confident that this community will continue to open their hearts and help the less fortunate in our community!"

The third reporting meeting will be next Tuesday, at 9:00 a.m., when workers will again report their weekly collections toward the goal!

Susan Boerning adds Tuesday's collections to the grand total!
