First Baptist Church Converted
to "Outrigger Island" For VBS
by: Bobby McDonald
First Baptist Church in Sulphur Springs has been converted this week to "Outrigger Island," where the theme is carried out in decorations, study materials, and games for their annual Vacation Bible School. This year's event has attracted over 650 youth from four years to 6th grade and is conducted from 8:30 a.m., until noon.
At the entrance to First Baptist Church, those attending Vacation Bible School are greeted by pink
flamingoes.
Focus of the study material is "Know the Truth," "Speak the Truth," and "Live the Truth, " base on Psalm 86:11, "Teach me your way, Lord, and I will live by your truth."

"Outrigger Snacks....." Participants in First Baptist Church's Vacation Bible School take a break and
enjoy a mid-morning snack before going to the next learning station.
"Everything is going great!" expressed members of the staff, as they described this year's event, after it had gotten underway. "The church is full of kids and the staff is doing an outstanding job of teaching them the Bible and making it a fun learning experience."
The Vacation Bible School at First Baptist Church will conclude on Friday.
The First Baptist Church float, advertising their Vacation Bible School, went through a "typhoon," as
it made its way through the streets of Sulphur Springs in heavy rains, during Saturday's Dairy Festival Parade.
