A 34 years old Sulphur Springs man was careflighted to a Tyler hospital, on Saturday afternoon, when a motorcycle he was driving collided with a car on Hwy-11E, at the intersection of the Wal-Mart parking lot. The motorcyclist was travelling eastbound on Hwy-11, when the operator of the late model car pulled from the parking lot, into his path.

The motorcyclist and his motorcycle landed in the ditch on the right side of Hwy-11. He sustained facial lacerations, possible head injuries, and what appeared to be a broken leg. Due to the significance of the injuries, a Medi-Vac helicopter was called to transport the victim to Tyler. The party in the car, that gave a Cumby address was not hurt in the accident.

A 9:30 p.m. update on the young man revealed that he was in serious but stable condition, in a Tyler hospital.
