Star Productions presents White Christmas

Shining Star Productions Announces its winter musical production of Irving Berlin’s White Christmas the Musical,  based on the classic movie starring Bing Crosby, Rosemary Clooney, and Danny Kaye.  The show will feature over 50 of Hopkins County’s most talented community members who have been working since August to hone their singing and tap-dancing skills to make a memorable holiday evening for you.

All of your favorite songs are recreated live on-stage in spectacular song and dance numbers: “Snow,” “The Best Things Happen While Your Dancing,” “Blue Skies,” “Love and the Weather,” and of course “White Christmas” – plus many more!

 

 

 

 

 

White Christmas will feature some of Hopkins County’s most well-known talent.  In lead roles will be Brandon Edwards, Stacie Shearer, Megan Akins, Kara Petty, Sydney Shearer, and local theatre and choral society veteran Mike Dodd in the role made famous by Bing Crosby.  The production has been directed and choreographed by Amanda Thompson-Brandenburgh.

 

 

 

The part of General Henry Waverly will be played by special guest star Judge Robert Newsom.  The Honorable Judge Newsom, who has served our county for 16 years, will be retiring this December.  He says his role in the musical is “part of his last hurrah” going into retirement and we invite his friends, family, and all the community to come celebrate his years of service and his theatrical debut.  As a special thank you, after the Sunday matinee, Shining Star Productions will host a cake and punch reception in his honor which the audience is invited to attend.

 

 

Whether you’ve seen the movie a dozen times, every year since you were young, or never before, this show will be a perfect way to get in the holiday spirit and is wholesome fun for the entire family.  Come see the lavish costumes, beautiful sets, and show-stopping dance numbers.

 

 

 

Performances will be held in the auditorium of the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center on Friday, December 14 and Saturday, December 15 at 7:00 pm and on Sunday, December 16 at 2:30 pm.  Advance tickets are available now through December 13 at Alliance Bank, the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center Box Office, or from any cast member.  Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door.  Discounted rates are available for larger groups.  Call 903-438-5217 for more information.
