For the second time this season, the Wildcat's offense scored over seventy points and made for an exciting game in Gerald Prim Stadium, on Friday night. And, if that wasn't enough exciting action, Pine Tree scored 48 points! "I almost got dizzy watching them run up and down the field!" exclaimed one devoted Wildcat fan. "Of course, I never got tired of seeing the Wildcats score!"
Similar to the Mt. Pleasant game, when the Cats score a school record of 71 points, Friday night's match-up with Pine Tree was definitely a night of offense and the team that could put the most points on the board would be the victor. The Wildcats led the fray at halftime 56-29.
The Wildcats used the second half to save their energies for the play-offs and played a number of individuals that hadn't seen much play, during the season. Meanwhile, a number of the regular players were on the sidelines, throughout Friday night's game, "nursing" injuries, with hopes of being healthy for the play-offs.
The Cats scored the remainder of their 70 points, during the third period of play.
It will be a long road trip, next week, as the Cats travel to Marshall for their final game of the regular season. Of course, a win next week would guarantee the Wildcats the District Championship, outright.
