Wildcats Bring Home First Season
Victory, From Garland, Thursday Night
by: Bobby McDonald
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats and a large crowd of fans traveled to Garland Lakeview, maneuvering the traffic obstacles through Greenville, and arrived for kick-off at 7:00 p.m., Thursday night. And, of course, if you see anyone that attended the game, this morning, they might be just a "tad bit" weary. However, the long drive back was much more endurable, as the Wildcats brought home their first season victory, with a 25-0, "shut-out" of the Patriots.

Thursday night's victory can be touted by the Wildcat Defense, as they never allowed the Patriots to cross the goal line. Whenever it became critical, the Wildcat Defense held and prevented a single score by the Garland Lakeview team, with several goal line stands.

The Wildcats led the match-up 10-0 at the halftime intermission, scoring a field goal with 19 seconds left on the clock for the opening half.

The Wildcats scored their second touchdown of the night, with 8:28 remaining in the third quarter.
