Following an exciting win, on the road, in Hallsville, the Sulphur Springs Wildcats find themselves at the "top of the heap" with a 3-0 district record in District 14-4A, and a guaranteed slot in the play-off picture, following the 38-31 victory, Friday night. The Wildcats trailed by four points (10-14)at the halftime intermission but came out and "played football" more life fans have become accustomed to, in the second half, limiting the Bobcats two touchdowns and a late field goal in the second half, while amassing 28 points of their own.

An interception with 2:45 minutes left in the game gave the Hallsville Bobcats some hope with the possibility of an on-side kick. However, the Wildcat defense, which had played one of their best games of the season, held the Bobcats and claimed the victory and the sole 3-0 record in District 14-4A. Certainly in the game of football, anything can happen, but the Wildcats face the two weakest teams, thus far, in the remainder of the season, when they host Pine Tree (0-3 in district), next week, and travel to Marshall (1-2) for the final game of regular season.

Meanwhile, in other District 14-4A action, Mount Pleasant defeated T-High 35-23, making Hallsville and Mt. Pleasant tied for second place with 2-1 records, and T-High trail with 2-1 records, and Pine Tree is at the "bottom of the heap" with the 0-3 record.
