In their final home game of the season, the Sulphur Springs Wildcats dominated the game against Royce City, before the hometown crowd, on Friday night. The 53-13 victory places the Wildcats in a three way tie for the district lead at 5-1, with both Sherman and T-High. The Wildcats will advance in the play-offs to face Hallsville, next Friday night, at 7:30 p.m., in Lindale Eagle Stadium.

The Wildcats "shut out" the Royce City Bulldogs in the first half of the game and amassed 36 points during the two opening periods. The first score of the night was a connection between Justin Owens and receiver Cody Clayton, who "scampered" across the goal line early in the night. Tony Bravo's PAT was good and the Wildcats led 7-0. And, before the first quarter was over, the Wildcats would score twice more, on a connection from Owens to Willie Ivery  and a two-point conversion, and again when a punt recovery was blocked in the end zone, and Bravo added another 3 points. The Wildcats led 22-0 at the end of the first quarter.

Second quarter found the Wildcats adding two more TD's to the scoreboard, as Owens connected for a 45 yard pass to Cody Clayton, and found Willie Ivery again in the end zone. Both PATS by Bravo were good.

The Wildcats went to the halftime intermission with a 36-0 lead, in the match-up.

Following the halftime performance, the Bulldogs managed to add their own TD to the scoreboard, with a PAT. But, soon it was a hand-off to Buddy Ivery that scored 6 more points for the Wildcats and another Bravo PAT, that saw the Wildcats leading 43-7 as the third period ended.

The fourth quarter resulted in Royce City adding 6 more points to the match-up, with a failed PAT. And, the Wildcats found Larry Pryor for a 57 yard pass, from Macek to add 7 more points with Bravo's PAT. And, Bravo would add another three points in the fourth period with a 27 yard field goal to end the last home game, with a score of 53-13.
