Fite-Hinton Team Captures
Yantis 42 Title, Saturday
From Penny Armstrong
In what was termed a huge success, the team of Larry Fite and Junior Hinton captured the first Yantis 42 Tournament Champion Title, on Saturday. Second place was awarded to the Corey Ogles-Wendall Johnson Team. Action was scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m., promptly, but play had to be delayed because one of the players had to go "pull a calf!" However, action got underway shortly and some "fierce" 42 games ensued in the tournament, with 16 teams vying for the title.
Finally, at 9:30 p.m., Fite and Hinton were declared the champions, in what promises to be a great event in Yantis.
According to Penny Armstrong, plans are already underway for another tournament in the Spring. It's probably Corey and Wendall asking for a re-match!!!
Runners-up for Saturday's title were Corey Ogles and Wendall Johnson.
