in his last performance before the home crowd, on Friday night.

It was a great night in Yantis for basketball, on Friday night, as the Yantis Owls hosted Campbell, for their final home game of the season. Not only did the District Champion Owls win in a big way, with a 71-30 score. But, senior basketball star, Ty Davis added 51 of those points in the game, setting a school record for points in a single game. It made it all the more special when it was Davis' final game before the home crowd, in his illustrious basketball career.
"Ty was 'hot' and kept adding points to the board," expressed Coach Chris Hightower. "He maybe missed one or two shots the entire game and just kept hitting three-point shots, for a total of 51 points. Eighteen of those points were from six spectacular 3-pointers!"
Friday night's win, leaves the Owls with a perfect 9-0 district record, and they will travel to Fruitvale on Tuesday night, for the final game of the season. When they won, last Tuesday night, in Cumby, they clinched the District Championship. "Hopefully we can bring home another win Tuesday night from Fruitvale and finish with a perfect 10-0 season," expressed Hightower. "That will give us a boost, as we look toward the play-offs and getting ready to make a run at advancing!"
