Yantis FFA Hosts
Pumpkin Decorating Contest
From Yantis High School

The Yantis FFA had a pumpkin decorating contest at their meeting held
October 18, 2012.
The following students participated in the contest: Layne Young, Annie
Ledyard, Alexis Ledyard, Elizibeth Chitwood, Jesse Armstrong, Keith
Kenemore, Sarah Wilkey, Gracie Beech, Trenton Norris, Josey Wetzel,
Rusty Wilkey, Kelsey Haley, Molly Bell and Eric Dalton.

All the entries this year were amazing! From catapillars to pigs, a
witch, and a really elaborate bird bath, the students did an excellent
job! Of course, the ag teachers were partial to the Yantis FFA
pumpkins. A special thank you goes out to our judges for the evening,
Mrs. Alicia Moore, Mr. David Stribling, Jr. and Mr. Jeremy Almand.

They had to make some tough decisions but they decided on the
following winners: Keith Kenemore won the elementary division with his
'Owls Nest' pumpkin display. Gracie Beech won the Jr. High division
with her metallic owl and Kelsey Haley won the high school division
with her double pumpkin owl complete with wings. Congratulations to
the winners.

Our November meeting, we have a Thanksgiving dinner in the works, then
December will be especially fun with the annual gag gift exchange, our
chili cookoff between the greenhand officer team and the chapter
officer team and a gingerbread barn decorating contest!
