It was a hard-fought battle, but Yantis Owls came up short, as they were defeated by the Avinger Indians in Bi-District competition, in Gilmer on Monday night. The Owls scored first in the match-up but found themselves down by ten points at the close of the first period. However, the Owls came back and pulled within one point of the Indians, before the halftime intermission. Then, a "slump" in the third quarter forced the Owls to be on the defense during the final period and the Indians controlled the ball, forcing the Owls to foul them. The Indians did well at the free-throw line and defeated the Owls 51-36, ending a great season for the Yantis team.

Scoring by Quarters was as follows:

Yantis       9   15    2    10   = 36

Avinger   19
     6   11   15   = 51
