Yantis Boys and C-P Boys and Girls
Advance in Winner's Bracket
At Saltillo Tourney

In tough basketball action on Thursday at the Saltillo Invitational Tournament, the Yantis Owl's Boys and the Como-Pickton Boys and Como-Pickton Girls Teams were among those advancing in the Winner's Bracket, for the tournament, after early wins on Thursday. "There was some mighty physical basketball and the competition was 'keen' all day long," observed one fan. "This always brings out the best of the teams as they get started in the season's basketball action and is an opportunity for local teams to see how they "match-up" with the competition!"
Como-Pickton's Boys Team met the Saltillo Lions and won the match 57-37, in an intense game, on Thursday morning.
Meanwhile, the Como-Pickton Lady Eagles defeated the Sulphur Bluff Lady Bears in a close 46-35 match-up, to advance to the winner's side of the bracket, for Friday action.
The Yantis Owls were "pitted" against a physical Roxton team, and came out the victor, in Thursday's match-up, as they advance to the winner's bracket, as well.
