Yantis Owls Continue in the Play-Offs After
a "Come From Behind" 58-55 Win Over Wolfe City

If you were in Sulphur Springs on Tuesday night, you probably heard the roar of the crowd, coming from Wildcat Gym, as the Yantis Owls defeated Wolfe City, in Wildcat Gym, in a Bi-District match-up, that advances them in the play-offs. Yantis delivered the win before a standing crowd, that remained on their feet for much of the 4th quarter, as they came from behind to claim victory.

Wolfe City led the contest at the halftime intermission, by six points, 24-18.

However, during the third period, the Owls managed to cut that deficit, and with 7:33 left in the game, they "inched" ahead 39-38. Outstanding defense and a couple of "miraculous" steals by the Owls made the difference, during the final period, as they definitely gave the audience "their money's worth!"

"It was great, great high school basketball action!" declared a Sulphur Bluff fan, who had come to watch the play-off game. "It was one of those games that had two almost evenly matched teams, well coached, and Yantis just managed to plan, execute and claim the victory, by never giving up and continuing to look for opportunities!"

Yantis will be traveling to Mt. Pleasant, on Friday night, for a 7:00 p.m. match-up with the McLeod Longhorns, as they continue their 2009-10 season quest!
