Attend 2012 State Championship in San Antonio
From Sulphur Springs Youth Bowling League
The Jim Mason Youth bowlers from Sulphur Springs, attended the 2012 Texas State USBC Youth Championship in San Antonio. The tournament held all during the month of June and ended the first weekend in July. The youths bowled the last weekend of the tournament on June 20 and July 1, 2012. There were 15 youth that created three teams, 8 sets of doubles, and 15 singles. They all entered all events for the tournament.

The three teams and their results were:
Classic Lanes #1: Dylan Reed, Bethany Stevenson, Chazz Fountain, Lessie Meece, and Tristen Painter. The youth bowled a combined score of 2323 scratch, with the handicap totaling 3436. The placed 5th out of 72 teams in division #3.

Youth Bowling Team #2, Mitchell Deyong, Mason Pool,
Evan Fulcher, Mason Virgel, and Russell Edwards.
Classic Lanes #2: Mitchell Deyong, Mason Pool, Evan Fulcher, Mason Virgel, and Russell Edwards. This team bowled a combined score of 2477 scratch, with the handicap totaling 3149. They placed 33rd out of 62 teams in Division #2.

Classic Lanes #3: Cameron Gray, Alex Brena, Matt Gifford, Zane Calderon, and Austin Cockrum. These youth bowled a combined score of 2228 scratch, with the handicap totaling 3362. They placed 17th out of 68 teams in Division #4.

For the first time showing, Classic Lanes and Sulphur Springs were well represented. The youths and parents are already looking forward to next years State Tournament to be held in Beaumont, Texas.
