Jaci Reed Named
2012 Hopkins County Youth Idol
by: Bobby McDonald
Sulphur Springs Middle School student, twelve-year old, Jaci Reed, took the judges by storm, on Saturday afternoon, as they named her the first Hopkins County Youth Idol, in a competition that found competitors from all across Northeast Texas. Jaci won the title in the Youth Division and then went on to perform her winning song, during the Adult Idol Competition that was held later in the afternoon.
Youth Idol winners were, left to right, Jaci Reed, Trinity Campbell, and Lakin Porter.

Jaci says that she stood before the County Judge at age 2, and "belted out" the Pledge of Allegiance in the County Courtroom and has loved performing for an audience, ever since. She began her singing career when her daddy bought her a karaoke machine and she began singing before family and friends. She's taken voice lessons and loves to perform in plays and drama productions, especially musicals.
Runner-up winner was Trinity Moore, a ten year old competitor from Pittsburg, and the third place winner was Lakin Porter, a sixteen year old, also from Pittsburg.
Congratulations, Jaci!!!
